Our Story
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Revelation 12:11
Before I met Amy…
After completing college, I took to the skies as a flight attendant with Singapore Airlines. It was an absolute joy to travel the corners of the world while staying in the finest hotels. Two years later, the Lord visited me in my hotel room in Japan and called me into the ministry. I served in my local church for a few years before embarking on a 1.5 year journey of inner healing and ministry equipping in Canada. The pastoral leadership at Catch The Fire Toronto prepared and anointed me for my call to missions.
I began traveling to numerous Asian countries preaching and ministering on the Love of Father God. The more I went, the more my heart was broken for nations plagued by the curse of fatherlessness. But I witnessed a Body of Christ so hungry for more the reality of God – to hear His voice, to look into His eyes, to feel His presence and to know His heart. I was flying to about 10 countries a year til I met Amy…
A few of my favourite things: A good game of pool, a solid 5km run, swimming and baking in the sun, a hearty gourmet meal or some fine french pastries, a marathon completed and a mountainous hike conquered, a good coffee with a deep conversation at a cozy cafe.

Before I met Kenny…
I had moved from war-torn Vietnam to live in the United States when I was ten. After college, I was contented working in the corporate sector and serving in church as a worship leader. Whenever an opportunity would arise, I found myself holidaying all over the US. Out of the blue, the Lord opened an opportunity for me to join in a short-term medical mission team to Cambodia. Little did I know, it would be the start of my life as a missionary.
After my first trip there, I felt God’s call to move to the Kratie Province to serve alongside a missionary pastor as an English teacher. I started to pick up the language and lead the youth in the local church. A year later, the Lord brought me into the city to work with Daughters of Cambodia (NGO that works with sex-trafficked women) as a Visitor Center Director. While I spend time listening to each of their painful backstories, I witnessed the God of all comfort tenderly binding up their wounds and loving them back to health. I also worked alongside a team that was planting house churches. That’s where I met Kenny…
A few of my favourite things: Hiking through nature, crossing a marathon finish line, eating good food, snowboarding, going on boat cruises, traveling, art and crafts, spending time with my family and having deep meaningful conversations.

Hi there, I’m Joshua Ethan Tan
While I was in my mother’s womb, I had the joy of traveling to seven different countries because my parents are missionaries. I was conceived during my parent’s honeymoon in Taiwan. God gave daddy two dreams about me before they found out I was conceived. Daddy also received Malachi 1:11 as he prayed about me. Interestingly, my mommy was in bed 1, ward 11 the day I was born – which happens also to be on 1st Nov (1.11). We believe it’s significant.
For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts. – Malachi 1:11
My name Joshua means “God saves” and Ethan means “strong”. My Chinese name is Xuan which means ‘Declare’. In short, I will be strong and courageous as a lion to declare God’s good news of salvation to the world so that He will be praised and worshipped in every corner of the Earth.
A few of my favourite things: Excavators, Garbage trucks, double-decker buses (and everything in that category), pokey sticks and other chocolatey stuff, swimming and cycling with daddy, balloons and balls, playing with my grandparents, hugs and kisses from mommy, my baby sister Joy.
